I think we currently don't know jack shit about the brain for us to adequately answer the question of what is consciousness. Improved reflexes from a neural augmentation? Become a sociopath. The path of cause and effect here, essentially, is simply not understood well enough by current standards, and hence stating this path of cause and effect is simply flawed.

tl;dr we don't know fuck all about the brain, so stfu about losing your humanity because you can't prove it

Well, JCLP has been fun so far. Some parts were boring as fuck, but others... not so. I'd talk about the cases and how retarded/interesting they were, but I'm pretty sure I could get my ass hauled to court for that. So no, I will not talk about any case I saw there.

It's also tiring. I sleep at 1am (my fault) and have to wake up at 8. Coffee helps, though, so I hope I can survive till the end of the week before crashing on Saturday and sleeping till 3pm. Pity the Subordinate Court visit today was boring as fuck, not much happened. Hope the Supreme Court visit tomorrow'll be more interesting. I really really want to sit in on a murder case. Or a Personal Protection Order filing. Or a rape case. Or any case that deals with the dregs of society, actually. Assault, battery, etc. Gang fights and whatnot. Maybe it's some part of me that is fascinated by just how low humanity can stoop, or maybe it's just morbid curiosity. Like watching a car wreck, or something.
